Who I am

This website is run by Amanda Brooks, trading as Find Your Inner Harmony and Peace Within. I am the data controller responsible for your personal information.

What information I collect

I only collect what I need to support you and provide the services you ask for. This may include:

  • your name, email address and telephone number
  • your postal address, where needed (for example, for an order or a home and land clearing)
  • appointment, session and booking details
  • information you share with me before or during sessions, or in a questionnaire
  • messages you send me by email or through the contact form
  • order details if you buy from the shop (I never see your full card details)
  • technical information collected by cookies (see my Cookie Policy)

Health and wellbeing information

Because of the nature of my work, you may share information about your health, emotions or wellbeing. Under UK GDPR this is “special category” data, and I take particular care with it.

I only collect and use this information with your explicit consent, to provide your sessions and services. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting me, although this may mean I can’t continue to work with you.

How I use your information

  • to arrange and provide your sessions, readings and Inner Harmony Sound Journeys
  • to reply to your enquiries and messages
  • to process orders and payments
  • to send newsletters or updates, only if you have asked to receive them
  • to keep the records I need for insurance and professional purposes
  • to look after and improve this website

Legal basis for using your information

  • Contract: to provide the services and products you have asked for
  • Consent: for health and wellbeing information, newsletters and optional cookies
  • Legal obligation: to meet tax, insurance and regulatory requirements
  • Legitimate interests: to reply to enquiries and manage and improve my services

Services I use

I use trusted third-party services to run my business. They only use your information to provide their service to me:

  • Calendly – appointment booking
  • Zoom – online sessions
  • Stripe and PayPal – card and online payments (they handle your payment details securely; I never see your full card number)
  • WooCommerce – the online shop on this website
  • Google Drive – private delivery of Personalised and Bespoke Sound Journeys
  • Vimeo – videos on this website
  • Mailchimp and Campaign Monitor – email newsletters, if you have signed up
  • My website host – stores this website and contact form messages

Some of these companies are based outside the UK, including in the USA. Where your information is transferred abroad, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contract terms.

Email newsletters

I will only add you to my mailing list with your clear permission. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. I never sell or share your details for marketing.

How I keep your information safe

  • my devices are password-protected and encrypted
  • only I have access to client records
  • any paper records are stored securely and locked away
  • the email and online services I use are secure and encrypted

No system is ever completely secure, but I take every reasonable step to protect your information.

How long I keep your information

  • Client records: up to 7 years, in line with insurance and professional requirements
  • Contact form messages: deleted from the website after 6 months
  • Order records: kept for 6 years for tax purposes
  • Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information I hold about you
  • ask me to correct anything that is wrong
  • ask me to delete your information (where I am not legally required to keep it)
  • ask me to stop or limit how I use your information
  • withdraw your consent at any time
  • ask for your information to be transferred to you or someone else

To use any of these rights, please get in touch. I will respond within one month.

Children

My services are not intended for anyone under 16 without a parent or guardian’s consent. When I work with children, a parent or guardian’s consent is always required.

Complaints

If you have any concerns about how your information is handled, please contact me first and I will do my best to put things right.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
